Best case scenario is to pay, sorry, but a judgement would be worse. Also, after you paid them, I would make sure that the case was dropped!
Well, speaking from the other side of the fence, a judgement doesn't mean anything. My wife and I sued her former employer. Her paychecks were getting later and later until they just didn't show up. He admitted he owed, made one payment for $500 and then stopped talking to us. Sued, he "responded" and then didn't show up at the hearing. We got a default judgement. Doesn't mean anything. He still hasn't paid us a dime (now six months later) so we have to decide if it is worth the money to file liens, do writs of garnishment, etc. He owes us $2k and we're thinking it isn't worth it.
Call Midland and ask for a payment plan or PFD.
They are sueing my for $1148.00. I settled for 870. I paid 200.00 on the day i agreed. When i recieved the settlement terms in the mail they are open to extending my due date to march if i dont have the funds by feb 28th. I plan to go to court with the settlement terms and im sure the judge would reschedule to a later date to give me time to pay by the agreed time.
Called MCM and they told me to contact the law firm. Will they arrange payment with me?
They should, I would contact them.
Yeah i would think they would just so they dont gotta go through the court process. I would call them asap.
Thanks for your help! The balance was 1509.14 and they settled for 906.00. paid half now and will pay the other half on the 1st. At least I'm done with them now.
