shumonie: I paid of 3 collections, then opened a secured cc with $300 limit (that raised my score around 50 points). Then I had 2 collections removed from my credit report since they were not reporting correctly (another 50 points) and then I dropped my cc utilization down to 9% (another 30 or so points).
