Re: Better Options?

FICO credit score chart

This is what goes into determining scores

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Most have them for the rewards

Other reasons low APR's, $0 periods, cards for gas...food...monthly utilities bills example I have one card that gets me 400 points a month just for insurance bills

Lets see exactly were your at on your journey

What are your baddies?

Current scores?

Oldest TL?

INQ's in the last year?

Right now I am at 625 on TU, and 6 months ago, it was 552.  I have my other scores at home, but I am away, so that will have to wait for the weekend.  No inquires this year at all show up, which makes sense because I haven't applied for anything at all in a year.  I have 3 things in collections for a total of $700 that I am working on with letters, and 3 things on the closed that are not good, but they are old and I am not sure how to proceed with those just yet.  They are my summer project.  My only open TL is my one card that is 13 months old.

Ok continue to work on CR's

I would say its safe to add a secured card but I only recommend this one for you at your current level (growth)

https://www.sdfcu.org/emv-creditcards

No HP

Great APR

Reports to all 3

Will not graduate tho

Only scoring ding would be when it reports to CR's but since you'll be working on your CR's during that time the card will be building positive history and rebounding the minimal scoring ding
