Re: CA Deletion possible success!!!

Don't follow, what do you mean original creditor not known? If you have an account with a balance listed on your report there must be a holder of that account, the report can't just say you owe SOMEONE $34...

758 TU FICO 08 (01/12/2016)
753 TU FICO 08 (11/21/2015)

755 TU FICO 08 (01/21/2015)

Ok long story short...I have a collection just appeared on my credit in march 2014, from collection agency for $34.00, shows on report original creditor is dish network...long story short i did not owe them 34.00. so i refused to pay them.... talked to dish  them about 8 months ago they said no problem would get it adjusted off my account....thought that was the end of it.  When i found it on my report recently i called the CA, told them i did not owe it they said got it from dish, and even if i agreed to pay them in full they WERE NOT willing to delete from my credit report.....so i called dish and finally got ahold of someone who said, they WOULD adjust it off my account but that they could NOT pull from CA because it was a valid debt?  I explained what i was told 8 months ago and they said no record of it!!!!!  However they did agree and they did send me an email, with their name DISH all over it that says as of May 22, 2014, your dish newtwork account has a zero balance.  Signed by an individual, with the title of Customer Service Specialist.

Question, I know i need to send a copy to all 3 CB's, but do i tell them the $34.00 is reporting incorrectly and have them remove it?  Also for clarification the account number with Dish and the CA do not match (however on credit report it clearly says original creditor is dishnetwork).  Also do send a copy of the letter to the CA as well telling them based on the dish letter i do not owe them or dish any money and to remove it from my credit report.  Thanks

Wow unbelievable, i just posted this, and then got an email from score watch that a new collection was posted on my account, so i thought what the _ell is going on?  Looked it up, its for guess how much?  $34.00 it says original creditor is unknown, but it has to be the same $34.00 as above with dish network, but this is not the CA that listed it in March 2014, what would you do?

I would take that email you got from Dish, I would print it out.  I would take it and a DV and send it to the CA, actually, I'd send it to both CAs and also state that this was a billing error.  I would state also that any further matter of this will be forwarded to the CFPB and BBB.

If you have a change in scores that triggers it, then yes.  Make sure your Scorewatch settings is set to your current score.

Re: CA Deletion possible success!!!

Snapmech -- The one they deleted via e-oscar was gone within a week, the one I had deleted via regular method took almost exactly a month.  So, yours should be gone very qucikly. Take a deep breath and smile. I use CreditKarma for a quick weekly guage on how my score is trending and to get credit updates.  If the derog is on something other than TU, I will sometimes pull one of my other reports here, or I will use the online dispute of Ex or Eq, just to open up the file to see what derogs are showing, then I don't actually dispute. It is a way to see what is reporting. But, anything that's on TU or all 3, I review on CK. That updates weekly, which is sufficient.

Seriously, it's like loosing weight. You shouldn't hop on the scale every day, thus the idea of a weekly or bi-weekly weigh-in. Same with the report -- schedule a day 10 days from now to check on it & then force yourself not to think about it in between. That's what I had to do to keep myself from obsessing.

Starting Score: TU 490 on 11/2012
Current Score:6/16/15:EQ 714, EX 704, TU 702 (all from myFICO)
New Goal Score: 740+ for all three

Re: CA Deletion possible success!!!

My collection was removed with TU and put my score up to a 624!! But my scorewatch hasnt alerted of a score  change or anything from EX, does it sometimes take longer with them? Or should I let them know? I'm so excited!
