CA letter but not on CR do I PFD before paying

We have received a letter from a CA on a recent medical bill for $200. It does not show up on my Credit Report yet. We also have one from 2012 that does not show up either for $27. I would like pay them but don't want to do it the wrong way. Should I send a PFD letter or just pay them? I don't want to take the chance that they will show up on the CR. I am new at all this and after ruining our credit the last 3 years due to having financial issues, then I was layed off, and then we moved and my husband took a $20000 pay cut. I feel like we are finally back on the right road financially and I want to stay that way!

You have 2 options I think that you could try.

1.  Just pay, many times after they get their money, they won't post.  It costs money and time to do such, and they already have collected.

2.  You could send a modified PFD, "If I pay, you won't post".
