USE THE HIPAA PROCESS. I had 6 medical accounts that had been turned over to a CA.  The CA is local and they know where I work so they immediately turned it over to an attorney and filed suit against me.  I paid the accounts prior to the court hearing so that I would not incur a judgment.  Once I paid them I opted out, and then sent the Pre-Hipaa Dispute Letter and within two weeks the accounts were removed from all three CRs.

Ok..I will then.  Will opting out keep lenders from seeing your information for credit checks for buying a car or home?
