SWEET! And let this be inspiration for peeps who think they'll NEVER climb out.
**UPDATE**
I posted in the Credit Card forum but wanted to share here as well for the folks trying to rebuild, like myself, so here's a brief summary of my attempt @ a CLI on my current Capital One account.
I contacted the EO @ Capital One yesterday regarding my steps program card ($500 limit) to request a CLI & I got a call from the EO's office in the evening- I answered some basic questions & was told I will get a call back in 3-5 days with underwritings decision. *fingers crossed* It is a soft pull.
Also, in my letter I stated that I want a rewards/cash back card. Guess what?! She told me on the spot I was approved for a Quicksilver (NOT Quicksilver One) card with 1.5% cash back, no AF!! I checked my account a little while ago & the rewards option has been added...now I'm just waiting on my card to start using it.
Now is the waiting game......
Congrats on the approval and subsequent upgrade! I agree, Cap One is not all bad. It's a fairly consumer friendly lender and one of the best for people rebuilding or starting credit. Capital One doesn't have exhorbitant fees like other company vultures preying on people desperate to repair or build credit. Sure, Cap One doesn't compete very well with prime lenders as far as perks and fee structures, but they seem to focus mainly on the "fair credit" market and don't deserve the "Crap One" moniker. I just closed my secured card with them after a year because it served its purpose; in about one more year when my credit is stellar I will app for the Quicksilver, too!
Good for you!!! Cap opurpose got you on your way...
I was approved for $500 the other day, which is perfect for two reasons. 1. It gets me in the door with Citi when they take over all the Cap1 Best Buy accounts. They aren't all that BK friendly (Citi). 2. I've had my eye on an Asus ultrabook which is currently pricing about $550. I have two $50 gift cards so during Florida's tax free weekend in August i'll buy one and take advantage of the 18 month 0% financing.
