Hi fellow myFico forum lurkers,
Yayyy +11 points! I got an SW alert today. Apparently CMI/ Credit Management LP has deleted my collection account with them. What's odd about it is I sent them a DV CMRRR on Oct 18. and I never got my RR (green card) back, talked to post office they can't track the mail past CMI's local post office. It was sent out but I'm told they probably never accepted it, just got an email from the post office about my refund for postage. But anywhoos, CMI account mysteriously gone! Did they get intimidated by the envelope? Hmmm... More than likely not, just a post office screw up, but more incentive to snail mail rather than email.

Thanks guys!
@Credit314 Your right. Every single point, and all the positive feedback is what makes the struggle to repair easier.
@Jutz
Your advice to mail since that email addy turned into a dead end is what made it all possible for me. Hang in there though I'm sure you'll get your GW it's all a matter of who's desk it lands on. Oh, and I called the OC (charter) before I mailed the DV they had no records of debt, so I figure no other CA can get me but I'll watch my back for those suckers.

Congrats!!! I've been trying PFD letters via email for a couple months to no avail! I didn't want to try with the DV because it will likely not allow them to negotiate for PFD which I totally willing to do if they agree! Might have to settle for DV likely. I will also try calling Charter to see if they have record of it. If not then I might settle for the same and do as Jutz originally instructed. SOmeone else here actually called and got positive results.

I don't see why a DV would hurt the ability to PFD, it may at least force an open line of communication, since they need to respond to it. Obviously push for a PFD until you think it won't go any further. They really aren't a terrible CA to deal with, they didn't call me all that much, never were rude over the phone, and from what I've seen, have been willing to work with people for GW under the right circumstances.
Good luck with it, I wish I had originally tried for a PFD instead of just paying it off, but what's done is done. I'm trying to find a new outlet to send letters/emails, I'll let you guys know if I find something new.

@Jutz, You're right, as far as collecting they are awesome! I have NEVER received a call or letter from them at all. Except a month or so ago when I sent a PFD to an email address, and they responded with a nice NO. Lol... I have emailed 5 of their top execs several times each to no avail. I have sent snail mail twice to no avail. Only got one response via both methods each. They seem to be very hard at PFDs. Have not seen much, or any success posted here or elsewhere.
Obviously if anyone has been successful with PFD then by all means share! Lol..

Have you tried the CEO yet? That's who I just sent a GW too. Here's hoping. I'm not even sure if it's a real email address, I just used his name and the format the others use. It hasn't gotten booted back yet, so it went somewhere, haha.

Haha! Yep! Tried him twice! Likely if it doesn't bounce back then it went! To be sure I have simply googled what I think is the correct email address and it had many results, mostly on sites not meant for us to see. One exec even used his work email as contact info for his kids soccer team schedule of which he is assistant coach or something like that. lol...
