CO calling

Guys I have a collection calling me about a past company cc I don't believe I'm responsible for. I asked the gentleman calling to contact me by mail and not phone. They still keep calling. How should I move fwd? I do not want this to hit my credit!

Re: CO calling

I would immediately send a request for debt validation ("DV").

Providiing it is timely, meaning it is sent prior to receipt of a dunning notice or within 30 days after dunning notice, it imposes a cease collection bar on the debt collector until they sent the requested validation.  That includes a bar on calling.

Re: CO calling

Thanks, I have no information on this at all. I could send a DV tomorrow an just say that. I'm sure they can find my account by name, I've never had a collection from them.
