As it stands with the Wells Fargo 30 day late..I disputed it with them and had no luck. So I disputed with Equifax and TransUnion. I have a FA on my Experian, so I can't dispute online, and haven't yet.
Originally, Wells Fargo reported the 30 day late, with a past due balance of $59, to all 3 bureaus.
But...now Experian is showing "Paid, was 30 days late".
Was? Like I said, never disputed it with them. How can it says "was 30 days late"? You would think if the 30 day late WAS removed, it would not be on there at all.
It shows no past balance due. It also says "Credit Account closed at request of consumer (I did close it)"
Now I DID dispute with Equifax...and here is where it get confusing.
With them...it shows "Payment Status: 30 days late". But it DOES NOT show a past due amount (it was previously).
It DOES NOT show "Closed" for this account, it shows "Paid Account/ Zero Balance"
I have a free trial of "Equifax Premier"...so I log into it, since individual CB's can be more specific.
On August 21st, before I disputed the 30 day late with EQ, it showed the Wells Fargo account as a "negative account".
Today, after the dispute, it no longer shows as a negative account. BUT, under payment status, it says "Pays 31-60 days".
Now wait just a second...This was reported as a THIRTY DAY LATE, but now shows "31-60".
But...under the payment history, it shows green for July, when it was showing a yellow "30 days late".
So now I'm lost...the payment history is all good now, but it still shows "pays 31-60 days", as the payment status.
With this said...my EQ Fico is only 608 as of today.
That seems kind of low...so it makes me wonder if this is somehow still reporting?
Also...note...with the payment history being all green, it still gives a "date of first delinquency"
Can you give more background? Did you actually miss a payment, or was there some error with Wells Fargo? Did you ever pay it, and if so when?
And I think 31-60 days is the same thing as 30 days late. Nothing gets reported to the credit reporting agencies until you are >30 days late, I think.
It was an actual late payment. I got paid 3 weeks late due to my job switching payroll processors, I had to use what little I had in savings to pay the other billers, and WF was lower on the totem pole because I was closing the account.

Are you saying that you only paid 21 days late? For example, due date 1st, you paid on 22nd ?
No. The paycheck was 21 days late. But it threw my entire budget off and had to pay some bills before getting to this one.
You can't dispute it then. You were late. They are reporting correctly. If they are showing "paid, was 30 days late" all that means is exactly that... you were 30 days late at one point, and after that you started paying like you're supposed to.
No..the main confusion is Equifax. Look and compare both reports. They took the 30 day late mark off they payment HISTORY, but it still shows as late under Payment STATUS.
Now looking at EX, says the same thing. But I NEVER disputed with them.
I wonder if closing the accounts removes the lates?
Update:
All 3 bureaus are now showing closed with a $0 balance.
Thing is...Experian is no longer reporting it as a delinquent account.
This is really starting to tick me off with confusion.
Equifax reported 30 day late in JULY, since been removed (see earlier reports).
Experian still shows a 30 day late acording to Fico, but it's not reporting as a delinquent account/
But Experian is reporting the 30 day late in AUGUST.
If I pull fico's EX credit report for 8/9, it shows a 30 day late for JULY!
