Can you ever get a Discover card again if you...

Had a charge off with them? I had a Discover card a few years ago, things happened, and I didn't pay. I let the card charge off. 

But, I made a deal with Discover and paid them off. Is it possible they will approve me for a card, or am I out of luck?

discover, from what i understand reading thses forums, is said to be that odd/tricky kind of lender.

some waited 5 years to get back in if they had a CO with discover. YMMV since you paid them back in full/settlement, hopefully less time in your case.

Not sure about Discover but once it falls off your credit report I would assume they'll approve you. I had a charge off from target. It's off my credit report and they recently approved me again for their red card.

I tend to think ymmv when it comes to this, and every situation is different. It would almost be a guess as to if they would approve you or not. Unless you are totally willing to blow a HP by possibly being denied, I personally would call in and try to talk to someone from their underwriting to see what they think about it. That is me though.
