Cancelling credit cards

So I am now getting "normal" credit cards because my score has gone up, my avaiable credit is up to $11,800. I cancelled VS, Express and Surge because they were low limits, relatively new and I don't plan to use them. Did I do the right thing?

Re: Cancelling credit cards

I've done the same thing in the past.

When I'm helping someone IRL in regards to which cards to close, keep, or SD; I get them to write on a piece of paper what criteria they would use in closing cards.

Usually cards like Surge (high fees, no rewards) get canned immediately along with toy cards with low growth potential and secured cards with no chance to unsecure.

Now that you're getting real cards, progress evenly and make every card count. Even better things are yet to come.
