I opened a Cap One in July 2013 with $2k credit limit. It was in the Credit Steps program but I didn't actually know that. Totally my own fault but I was late on the third payment. No auto CLI after the 6th payment. But I wasn't out of the program. If I made the next few on time, I had a second chance for a CLI after my tenth payment. Well, I missed my 8th payment by a day. Credit Steps terminated. Then I was looking around the website and just happened to notice the correspondence tab where I saw two letters informing me about the Credit Steps program and my second chance. D'oh.
Anyone experience this? Were you able to get a CLI later or re- enrollment in the Credit Steps program? Should I try to beg for mercy or just wait out an auto CLI? How long? Thanks.
