I knew that my new Cap One would provide a boost to my score but never imagined a boost of *0 points - from 519 to 599!! I still have a long way to go, but the score really lifted my spirits tonight. I received the card in early October and used it frequently, leaving the balance at $3.00 - !% of the balalnce and this seems to have served my purpose well. My CL is $300 and the CRAs noted and reported a high balance of $170 mid cycle, but I made sure to have the balance at 1% by the closing date. I hope this helps anyone curious about how much these "toy cards" help in raising up the scores, and needless to say, I am very happy I opted for this card early on in the game of rebuilding.

Congrats on score boost! With good usage, Cap One will be willing to extend even more credit to you down the line. I'm guessing this is in the "Credit Steps" program, so you'll be automatically evaluated.
