Cap One reinvestigation drops my score by 32 points?

[ Edited ]

Two days ago I sent in a request to have my charges reinvestigated. They sent me some invoices that didn't match up to what was listed on my credit report, so I went to the credit bureau sites and sumbitted a form to have them looked at again.

And today I got a ScoreWatch notification that my score had dropped 32 points.

What on earth happened? The only thing that changed was "Consumer disputes - reinvestigation in process"!

Starting Score: TU - 580 (7/22/11) ..... EQ: 561 (7/22/11)
Current Score: TU - 622 (10/24/13) ...... EQ: 656 (3/26/14) ...... EXP: 620 (3/26/14)
Goal Score: 700 by 12/31/14

Other items, but not Capital One. Just some items I didn't recognize that were listed as collections. Capital one is one I've been paying close attention to since it's listed as a charge off and therefore has been killing my utilization percentages for the last six years.

The original CL was $300.

Current Score: TU - 622 (10/24/13) ...... EQ: 656 (3/26/14) ...... EXP: 620 (3/26/14)
Goal Score: 700 by 12/31/14
