Capital One Not So Helpful......Maybe....

OK, what in the world should I think about this?  Last week I called Capital One, and spoke to a very nice lady.  She agreed to delete my lates from my account and that she will be sending a letter stating as such to me.

Well, I received a letter from Capital One today.  It was their standard letter stating that I did not pay my minimum payments on the late dates and that if I think it was in error to send them something proving a such.  So, I suppose this means that she is actually not going to delete them after all.

So what should I do?  Should I just wait to see what is going on?  Or should I call back and hope she notated something in the file?

Thank you for your help.

Bump........I would really like to know your opinions.  Should I just wait and see if they actually keep their verbal word and remove the lates, or should I assume they are not removing them and call them to see what is up?  Or if you have any other ideas, then I would love to hear them.

thank you.

Re: Capital One Not So Helpful......Maybe....

Same thing happened to me....i completely ignored it. I just waited a few more days and called again to speak with another specialist until i got the right one who actually understood what i was trying to do.

Just keep calling.

Re: Capital One Not So Helpful......Maybe....

Thank you for your advice.  That is what I was thinking of doing, but I just do not want to bother them too much.   They are doing me a favor (hopefully) and I just do not want to have them totally shut me down.

I had good success with Capital One in this regard.  When you call in, call to speak with a supervisor.  Explain that another supervisor told you should would help you out with this process and explain what happened.  They're actually pretty helpful from my experience.

From a BK 6+ years ago to:

EQ - 06/01/2011 pulled by lender 719

Re: Capital One Not So Helpful......Maybe....

Ok, so I called and asked for a supervisor per noquitinme's advice, and he (Antonio) stated that the notes still showed that the account would be updated to the CRA's to show no lates.  That is a huge relief.  After receiving the letter stating that they were not going to remove them, I was worried.

So now the waiting game is on for 60 days to see if this will be followed through upon.

Re: Capital One Not So Helpful......Maybe....

Yea you will be fine, and trust me it wont take the full 60 days for them to update, thats just what they are scripted to say. When i called in the lates were gone in a matter of days!  I actually just called in today, on lates they added back, they told me i would receive a letter confirming the change made and to allow 60-90 days to update.
