C1 accounts I thought (or at least used to) have in the contract agreement that VA law prevails and that the SOL would actually be determined by that state, which is 3 years. Therefore its important as to when in 2010 you made your last payment to them on this account.

Send a PFD. If after a couple of failed attempts, I would just pay it off. You might see a FICO increase if util improves. CapOne isn't known for accepting PFDs.
