Do you have a SO that can help you by transferring some of the debt to his cc to help you improve your score long enough to take out a loan and pay his cc back?

Lots of friendly ones but because there are so many with varying eligibility requirements, it's hard to know what will work.  I know Navy Fed has given tons of people second (and even third) chances, but to be honest, having high utilization is a very big risk factor and when banks give you a loan or a credit line, they're not doing it to be charitable and high risk indicators are a reason for being declined.  It doesn't hurt to try with Navy Fed because you CAN get in with the membership backdoor and they DO give a lot of people chances.
