Chapter 7 Purge

My Bk was just discharged this year and I would like to know how long it would take for my creditors to be purge? Do you have to wait 7 years or do they do it instantly? Please advise.

Re: Chapter 7 Purge

The CRA excludes reporting of the BK per se after 7 or 10 years, depending upon its type.

Derogs that occured prior to the BK discharge are excluded the same as any others, meaning that monthly delinquenies become excluded after 7 years from their dates of occurence, and any charge-off taken prior to the BK is excluded after 7 years plus 180 days from the reported DOFD.

The creditors dont purge anything.

They arent involved in exclusion of the reported BK from your credit report.  That is done solely by the CRA.
