Hello and thanks in advance for your help!
I have a revolving account listed from Dollar Bank, apparently I owe from an old checking account.
Date Opened: Oct, 2012
Status Date: Dec, 2015
Condition: Open
Balance: $356
Status: Charged off as bad debt
worst deliquency: none reported
Remarks: unpaid balance charged off
The question is, when I call Dollar Bank to pay this balance, is there a chance I could get them to delete or update this record to remove the negative remarks? What is the best way to go about this? There is no matching collection attached to the credit report.
Thanks!
What mitigating circumstances led a debt, and to that debt being charged-off?
Checking accounts are not revolving credit accounts.
Did you overdraw the account? Why did the delinquency extend for approx 120 days, which is the normal period for triggering a charge-off?
Their sympathy is likely to hinge on the reasons the debt went to such a level of delinquency.
I switched all of my bank accounts over while I was moving, I didn't close the account, I just stopped using it and never got word from them that the account went negative after.
