I have a closed CC account with Chase on my CR. The account is currently paid monthly and I now have the capability of paying it off once and for all.
The account was closed during the 2008-2009 market drama when I went past due a couple of times (never went past due previous to that in 5 years). However, since that time I've been paying monthly and on time. The past due information on my CR is reducing my score, and I was seeking advice on negotiating with Chase to where I would pay off the entire balance if they would delete the entire entry from my CRs.
If anyone can provide some wisdom I would be very appreciative.

Is it your oldest account?
Was it CO'd or just closed due to lates? How serious were the lates?
If it is just lates those will fall off 7 years from their occurence. When the last one is gone it will again be a positive account.
Now that you mention it, other than student loans, the Chase CC is my oldest account.
It was not CO'd, simply closed due to lates. The lates were 90 days past due.
I understand that the lates will fall off 7 years after occurence, however I would then have to carry the reduced score for another few years, which I prefer not to do if I don't have to. I would prefer to pay off the remainder of the balance and have the entry deleted completely. Could you provide any guidance as far as who to speak with at Chase about this?
Additionally Sir, I know this is OT, but could you please tell me how to access the PM section of this website? I am having trouble finding it.
