Child Support

I have 2 different questions.

1. Does Child Support in collection stay on report, paid or not, for 7 years?

2. How many points do you lose for this type of collection?

I'm not sure on #1. But for #2, the answer is 0. FICO doesn't score child support accounts.

Depends what state you live in. I got behind around 1000 for about a year so they started reporting it. I asked if it was going to stay on my record and the state told me they would remove it once my balance is below 400.
