Civil Judgement in Oregon

Looking for some clarification on a civil judgement.  Does the civil judgement reset the SOL, thus the new SOL would be 10 years from the date of judgement?  Does making a payment on the debt reset the SOL, thus the new SOL would be 6 years from the date of the last payment?

I have generally seen the answer to these questions be yes, but a few places I have seen no and I cannot find anything that is real clear on the issue.

Thanks,

Re: Civil Judgement in Oregon

The SOL on the original debt is 6 years.  That 6 years is for the creditor to sue you.  Once that time has expired, they cannot sue and win if you used expired SOL as a defense.

If a judgment is brought against you for the debt, the SOL on the judgment is 10 years to collect.

Although, in legal terms, the SOL has not been restarted on the original debt, the judgment is collectable for 10 years.
