So here's the situation. I'm trying to help my boyfriend clean up his credit while I also clean up mine. In his relationship prior to ours, he was engaged and him and his fiance had a bunch of joint accounts, a mortgage and a lot of things in both their names so most of the collections on his report (some paid, some not) he has NO idea what they are regarding.
I'm going to have him send GW letters to the collections that have been paid.
Now the collections that have NOT been paid... some are from 2007-2010. I know it's not timely for a DV but is there something you can send asking what the debt is related to without acknowledging that it is yours? I'm not sure how to correctly word what I am trying to say. Or would the best route be to PFD?
Any suggestions would be helpful!
