Clearing Negative Information

I have an judgement sitting on my report which has been paid.  I have received a Satisifaction of Judgment and now recorded with local clerk of courts.  Now, after the court filed it, they gave me a release and satisfaction of judgement.  How does the 3 credit reporting agencies get this information so it shows the judgtement has been paid?  I was told by he creditor that the credit agencies should automatically pickup the information.  I am not quite shure what that means.

Re: Clearing Negative Information

Apparently they scan the court documents & they'll update it.  I had one I paid a few months ago & probably withing 2-3 weeks it was updated at the CBs as "satisfied".

Re: Clearing Negative Information

Yes, they do public records searches.

How often they do actual updated searches is questionable.

Give then an informal call and advise that the public record has updated.  Give them a couple of weeks to correct.

If they fail to update, then you can pursue a formal complaint of inaccuracy of information in your file.
