Closed CC, long history, benefit your credit score?

Hello all, I have an old credit card that I've closed that is still on my credit report. Will closing this have any positive/negative effect on my credit report? Isn't deleting old / closed accounts beneficial? Or can the history shown on there have a positive effect? Thanks in advance.

I would recommend against closing or trying to delete any account with a positive history. This goes doubly for old accounts, which by their age are helping you even more.
