Re: Closed Collection Account - Charter Communications & Credit Management, LP: Expert Advice pl

The problem is an hour after my OP I sent the letter already to the CA. Then I read the advice here after the fact to go with Charter first.

So I'm stuck with the cards dealt at this point.

Unless somebody thinks it would be okay despite the fact that I already wrote the CA to contact Charter at the same time and see if they will deal? Afterall despite my letter to the CA, if Charter accepts the money and deletes first (big IF) then nothing can change that?

OH yeah, but who would I contact at Charter? I know the CSRs can't help me and who knows where they will send me after I request somebody with more authority. Any specific departments or specific level of authoritiy within that department to contact at Charter?

I will say too that I did research on Charter and there's a lot of complaints about how they handle customers. I'd be amazed if there was somebody there who'd give a damn about this issue...

I would still call charter anyways.  It was just an offer, one they may not respond to anyways. I did the same thing with an old gas bill and the collection came off of my report today lol.

Oh wow congrats! That's got to feel good to have that gone. Seems to me that the small "crime" of being late on a bill or whatever the reason is disproportionate to the fact that it's a 7 year (10 years in some cases) prison term that can affect so many people's lives. Oh well.

I'll get to work on contacting Charter too. Gotta do some research tho I guess first!
