Collection Account Questions

I discovered this forum just recently and the information I've gleaned from it has been very helpful. My questions are regarding the law with respect to how  CA accounts report on your CR. If the original account is still on your report due to a CO, is the CA permitted to re-establish an unpaid trade under their name? How about a firm that buys your debt six years after it was written off and re-establishes a fresh unpaid trade six years later that relates to the original account.  I hope I've conveyed my questions clearly and I'd appreciate any information you can provide me. TIA.

Re: Collection Account Questions

Welcome to the forums.

Yes, the original creditor and the CA can both report their accounts.  And it does not matter how long it has been since the debt was charged off.  The CA can report it at any time until the CRTP has expired.
