Collection account shows closed and Credit Karma score went up 7 points?

Hi...I am using SW but I also check Credit Karma just for grins...today my CK score went up 7 points and the only change was an LVNV collection account changed to closed.  I have disputed some things and still waiting for CRA to finish up.  Could this mean that LVNV was removed?

Not if it changed from opened to closed; it would have just deleted.

The more likely culprit is that your pending dispute is causing other OC account information to be excluded from scoring until the dispute flag is cleared.

Smoke needs to clear on any disputes before your scoring becomes "real" again.

My credit karma dropped 30 points today b/c LVNV removed the "consumer disputes this account" and because they changed the status to closed.  Why would this happen?  Shouldn't it go up? They haven't deleted just closed.

Mine dropped 14 pts when it went from open to closed with lvnv.

I hate them, too. I have sent them multiple DVs, which were never replied to. They continually change dates on the account, and even the name of the OC. After my last CR dispute, they updated it to show it was closed on one report, but still open on another. The date of last payment was just changed to March 2011 with EX, but Aug 2008 on the other two.
