Collection on Credit Report - Couple Questions

With someone having recently paying off a active collection on credit report, does your score go up or not? Also, when applying for credit and/or trying to increase a credit line, does the paid collection raise any red flags on your behalf?

Thanks fror everyones input

Only if you get the PFD, a paid CA is just as bad as an unpaid CA and when it updated to show paid if it had not been updating monthly already it would actually have dropped your score as it looks new in the eyes of Fico. If its showing as paid it will stop the monthly update and as it now ages you recover some Fico points.

Also, when applying for credit and/or trying to increase a credit line, does the paid collection raise any red flags on your behalf? Might be denied for recent CA activity but you can probably get that overturned with a recon and an underwriter actually looking at your CR. Paid always looks better than unpaid to human eyes.
