Confused!?! Need advice of the wonderful FICO guru's!

Trying to buy a house this year! Hubby has two collection accounts on his CR's.  As I dig for past CR's to get DOFD for these two accounts some baffling things have come to my attention.  I am concerned that the MCI collection is being or has been re-aged when it is sold/transferred to another CA.  I have found several CA for this one account the most recent being AFNI, Inc.  More on the second collection later as this post is extremely long as it is.  Any insights would be greatly appreciated.  I have snailmailed a PFD to AFNI, Inc but no response yet except for the update on Experian that I disputed which I clearly did not so I sent a PFD email with the addition of This is not a dispute, this is an attempt to pay line added.  The reporting I have found is as follows:

Re: Confused!?! Need advice of the wonderful FICO guru's!

Are all of these entries from the same report?  i.e., do you have more than one CA currently reporting the same debt?  DV them, this might resolve itself.  Also, see if you can find the documentation that goes with this.  Also note that "opened" date is irrelevant - the date you need to worry about proving is DoFD, but only if you can't manage to remove this through DV or PFD.

Re: Confused!?! Need advice of the wonderful FICO guru's!

Update! When I opened my email just a short time ago I found two emails from AFNI, Inc.  One was for a Verizon account that I PFD them and the other was for the aforementioned account for my hubby.  The emails are identical except for name address, oc, acct # etc.:

This letter is to verify that we have filed a request with the credit bureaus to delete the account listed above from your credit report.

If you have any questions, please contact our office toll free at 1-888-827-6002 Monday through Friday 7am – 9pm CST.

You have the right to inspect your credit.  This letter is from a debt collector.

Sincerely,

Afni, Inc.

When I went on their website with the account numbers given in the individual emails I got a big surprise.   They could not find hubby's account but with mine I was able to make a payment (showed full amount owed and settlement offer) (Not making payment til I receive the letter agreeing to my terms) and I was also able to print out a statement that I am thinking is coming in the mail.   Statement letter is as follows:

This letter confirms the original creditor and balance of your account. Thank you for your attention in this matter.

If you have any questions, please contact our office toll free at 1-866-352-0479 Monday through Friday 7 AM - 9 PM

CST. For proper credit on your account, please write this number 036595711-02 on your payment.

This is an attempt to collect a debt. Any information obtained will be used for that purpose. You have the right to

inspect your credit. This letter is from a debt collector.

Sincerely,

Afni, Inc.

AFNIWM1

So hopefully they will just delete hubby's account and I will pay mine after receiving their letter.   Is this correct? Any advice/suggestions?

Re: Confused!?! Need advice of the wonderful FICO guru's!

I would dispute them all as duplicate accounts.

Don't send DVs until the dispute process has run its course.

This is one account with four different CA's since it went to collections.
