I have looked on here and cant find what I want or not working it right for the search .
OC had a CC account and it was a CO and Credit report states ( EX) ( TU and EQ show recent balance as 0.00)
Recent Balance=20,739.00st as of May 2013
Original Balance or Limit 18,700.00 .
Status
Purchased by another Lender . (Which is actually a CA.)
CA is reporting
CL or original Amount= 20,739
Recent Balance=21,142 as of Jan 2014
Status:
Collection Account. 21,142 past due as of Jan 2014.
#1 Isnt OC supposed to update account after account it sold with a 0.00 balance?
#2 with this OC reporting this way , is it impacting UTL?
#3 Anything I am missing or not undertanding?

Recent Balance=20,739.00st as of May 2013 If purchased by another lender, should be $0. This is the OC so yes, util is factored.

Thanks I thought I was right!!! Ok so now another problem. I have disputed this with EX and pointed it out and even sent copies of the CR showing the errors and circled.
They say there is nothing to fix.
Isnt there some FCRA 20 1a blah blah blah to state in my next one to make thiem fix this or make OC update it or hehehe just delete it!!
Direct dispute with the OC would be the course I would take.
Ok will do, and if they do nothing? Also do I have to allow them a 30 day window to update?
They have to respond to a direct dispute. Look at the sticky at the top about them. RobertEG and guiness have some good info.
Ok thanks!!!
Yes, send the OC a direct dispute.
The basis for the dispute is their failure to have complied with FCRA 623(a)(2), which requires a furnisher to promptly update any reporting as necessary to maintin its current accuracy. Their next regular reporting cycle would be my definition of "prompt."
Sale of the debt leaves a $0 debt balance owed to the OC, so if they have in fact sold the debt, it should be a no-brainer.
