I had an auto lender do the same. In my early repair days I disputed it and they doubled the lates, all of which were accurate. That's one of the last times I ever disputed.
A 30-day from 2008 isn't hurting any. If it does bug you, you can always submit proof to the OC and ask them to remove it.

I would handle by way of direct dispute with the creditor.
The fact that it was not previously reporting does not mean that the account was not delinquent in the month reported. If, upon review of your account, they determined there actually was an unreported delinquency, they can report it.
The CRA has no way to independently determine the accuracy of the information itself, and will simply forward to the credtior for their investigation.
By filing a direct dispute, you cut out the extraneous middle man.

I have two 30 day lates from 2007 and they are not supposed to have a negative impact any longer. What concerns me about them is on MyFICO CR in the Understanding your FICO Score page, under Whats hurting your score, it still points out that I have 2 past due accounts. It seems that FICO is still holding them against me.

As long as the derogatory information remains in your CR, it will be considered a negative item, regardless of how FICO is now scoring it.

myFICO is the consumer division of FICO. Since its introduction 20 years ago, the FICO® Score has become a global standard for measuring credit risk in the banking, mortgage, credit card, auto and retail industries. 90 of the top 100 largest U.S. financial institutions use the FICO Score to make consumer credit decisions.
