Consumer finance company

My husband and I both have 7-8 accounts with Springleaf Financial on our reports. They are all paid and in good standing with no lates. I recently saw that a negative on our reports is too many consumer finance accounts. I'm considering calling to try to have some deleted but these actually make up most of our credit history. My question is, what is my best course here? Will having some removed help or hurt more because it will affect my length of credit and/or number of accounts?

Re: Consumer finance company

Some FICO models don't like consumer finance companies.

Not sure how you will get them removed. A paid satisfactory or unsatisfactory for that matter will remain on your files for 10 years.

Are these installment loans that have been paid and closed?

Yes, they are installments paid and closed. No lates.

They will remain on your files for 10 years. Unless you can talk the creditor into removing them.

It does look good that you have always made timely payments, especially on manual reviews.
