Sorry for the dumb question I'm a newbie at this. If you account is already in collections can you contact the Original Collector and pay them instead of the CA? Also can you PFD?
You can certainly call and ask them. Some will allow you to make direct payments, others will make you work with the CA.
I would ask them if you paid them would they recall the debt from the CA.

Thanks! Would I be able to PFD with the OC?

Have you called them, and asked if the accounts still show in their system?

I haven't. I wanted to ask everyone's opinion first before I do anything.

Upon your calling the OC they'll either: Say that they can't discuss it, because they don't own the debt, and tell you to call the collector; or they'll tell you the current status, and are receptive to a "deal," with the older being the debt, the better the odds of a more accomodating arrangement that doesn't hurt your pocket as much.
My computer's dorking out. Some got chopped. I'll be back later. Rebooting.
*Edit: It's fairly intimidating to call an old creditor that you burned, and then turn around to rehash old accounts, and the expectation of their reaching through the phone to choke you, or belittle you. It's just a numbers game. No stress.
If they sold it, they'll tell you so. If they still retain ownership, they'll play ball one way or another.
