Credit Card in collections

Once a credit card goes into collections is an automatic closed or can you resume using the card once debt is paid off?

Re: Credit Card in collections

Do you really expect a CC to remain open while in collection?

Re: Credit Card in collections

Once a creditor has closed a card to consumer use, the decision to reopen the card is entirely theirs.

There is no automatic reopening.

In most cases, they will not reopen, but you can always ask.

Re: Credit Card in collections

Robert is correct. I've seen times when lenders will work with you on terms to get it opened back up, but in most cases this is probably unlikely.
