Re: Credit Card to Improve Score for Mortgage

IMHO with the scores you have now and the cards you have I would work on CR's any improvements on those could see some improvment in scores

Add the fact you will be building good payment history during this time

If you could add any money to the secured cards w/o a HP would also help

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: Credit Card to Improve Score for Mortgage

Your derogs are holding your scores down. The closed TL with a reported balance is not good either. Instead of deletions, you should be writing GW letters IMO. Assuming that you might need the age from the TLs once they report positively.

Yes, the Home Depot (18 lates) and Aspire (16 lates) should be deleted from my files. And the Capital One update should be happening in the next 30-45 days, I hope. How can I push the credit folks to get EQ and EX to delete the accounts in question? Shouldn't they be able to do this qucker than I can?

Re: Credit Card to Improve Score for Mortgage

I did write goodwil letters to Home Depot and Aspire. They responded with requests to delete tradelines. I've written goodwill letters for every negative account in my file.

You would need to contact your credit counselor regarding updates. I am assuming you have yourself enough time to remedy your credit reports before your final approval.

Yes, the house won't be ready until late May.

Then it sounds like you have time but I would still write the letters. Always have a back up plan.
