Credit Karma FAKO is not very good

I know I shouldn't take too much stock in it, but I don't understand the Credit Karma FAKO.  My TU has finally reflected paying my utilization down from 80% to 30%, about 3 collections have been removed from my TU, and yet there has been zero change in any of my 3 Credit Karma scores.  I kept waiting for my utilization to change assuming I would see a nice boost, and nothing.  It's funny because according to their report card, I have a B in the most important category (utilization) and an A in the second most (on-time payments).  Somehow, though, I still have an F in overall.

Have your credit reports been updated since you paid down your UTI? It can take about 30 days.

They are all updated, and I know that TU is (which Credit Karma uses).  Even Credit Karma's score report card shows my new lower utilization, upgrades that section from a 'D' to a 'B', but has no impact on score.

Re: Credit Karma FAKO is not very good

FAKOS from any Credit Monitoring Service are not any good -- no creditor or lender uses them.  The USAA Credit Monitoring Service that I use gave me the credit scores that you see in my signature and they haven't changed one number either way since the first day I opened the account.  They're worthless!   Its the credit reports that matter, NOT the scores.

My USAA credit monitoring changes all the time.   It's been acurate on my activity.  The Fako scores they report tend to run lower than my real Fico scores.

My USAA scores have also changed quite a bit in just a couple weeks.  The only one I have a basis for comparison, though, is TU.  It is about 100 points lower than my real TU Fico.

Re: Credit Karma FAKO is not very good

My CreditKarma (Transunion) TransRisk FAKO runs about 10 points lower than my actual FICO and my TransUnion (TrueCredit.com) Vantage FAKO runs about 40-60 points higher than my actual FICO - I am waiting on a secutiry mailer from USAA so hopefully I can start using them this week.

In all I check my actual FICO once a quarter and use the other services just to monitor.  You just take them all with a grain of salt.

Starting Score: TU:619 (02/24/2012) - EQ:629 (02/24/2012)
Current Score: TU:632 (06/21/2012) - EQ:672 (06/21/2012)
Goal Score: 740

Re: Credit Karma FAKO is not very good

My Credit Karma FAKO is 618

My Privacy Guard FAKO is 632

I pulled my FICO TU, it is in my signature and much higher the Credit Karma and about 10 points higher the Privacy Guard.

Re: Credit Karma FAKO is not very good

I found out that credit karma updates every 60 days.  I confirmed this because I show on my soft inquiries that they pull it every other month.

You can update your score manually whenever you want and as often as you want though.  Right under your score, just click the "Update" link.
