Credit One Says it's NOT possible to Remove Late Payment Report

Hi everyone,

I called Credit One to ask if they'd do a GW delete of a 60-day late from last October (my only late with them) and they said it's not possible to delete that accurate information.

Is this true? Should I try a letter? Has anyone had success with this?

I need HELP! That late payment is KILLING my scores.

Did you try emailing the Executive Office? I read a couple of post of success with that method.

Always try e-mailing the top execs. You will have more success with that.

So I tried that this morning- got an email bounce back due to "sensitive information" being included- I tabled it for now until I can email again or send snail mail- but then I received a phone call from the Office of the President and the woman on the phone said she would respond in writing 7-10 business days.

I'm hoping for success!

I emailed Credit One EO about two weeks ago and they agreed to remove a charge off. You should have some success going the EQ route.

I received exact same return email when I emailed office of the president. Two days after I sent my email received alerts that late payment was removed. 4/5 days after that received confirmation letter from office of the president.

All lenders are going to use the blanket statement "we can't change accurately reported information" but nearly all of them will if you talk to the right person.  They CAN do it, it's just a matter of getting them to do it.
