So I committed a cardinal credit sin by doing a PFD that they refused to give me in writing. Here's why I did it:
I asked the agent how long it would take before I received the letter confirming payment and deletion. She said that the payment will post in the morning, and that she already submitted it to her supervisor for automatic deletion, and I should have the letter within one week.
Until then, my fingers are crossed.
I'm in the exact same boat. I just paid a CA that has 5 medical collections listed on my report based on a verbal promise to delete. Apparently they put the deletion letter in the mail today, so I should have it soon (they're local). I'll keep my fingers crossed for you if you keep yours crossed for me!
Done deal! Let's get it done!!
I got my letter today!!! It reads:
06 MAR 2014
Dear Sir/Madam:
The debt referenced below has been submitted to the credit bureaus for deletion from your credit file. Consumer reporting agencies may take up to 30 days or longer to update reports and this is beyond our control.
Should you have any questions.......
Yada yada yada............
THEY'RE GONNA DELETE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!
I did the same thing. I was given a verbal agreement to delete and the lady spoke with her supervisor prior to telling me they'd delete. Small local southern CA here as well. I was told what date they update monthly to the CR's and to call her back if I had any questions. Now I wait til the end of this month to see if it happens. I hope they told me the truth but we'll see. I figure worst case at least it's paid so I'll slide through on a manual review if they don't and I want a mortgage later.
