(I was successful at getting these removed from his other reports, because this was due to the tool truck guy leaving and he didn't know how to make his payments)
QUESTION: Are these old enough not to matter? Or should I still send the GW letters? These are the only baddies on his report.
THANK YOU!!!
Yes, they are hurting. GW them off if you can.
If they are listed on the credit report then yes they do matter and I would be sending the GWs out on a regular basis until you get the desired results.
Thanks -- I am sending letters and emails out today.
I believe 30 (and 60?) day lates only affect score for 2 years. Still wouldn't hurt to have them gone.
Thanks! Yeah all his lates are over 2 years old -- but thats the only bad things on his report. I hope if I can get them gone, his scores will see a good bump.

Not true unfortunately. A single 30 day late will probably have less sting after a year or so but when it's combined with other lates the damage lasts longer. Scoring looks at how many negatives are reporting at any one time and not just the severity and recency.
There is no hard and fast rule about how long any negative will impact scoring but of course the farther away in time you get from a negative the better off you are.
