DOLA 6/2006 means...

This account should be exluded from my report by 12/2013??? really???? Why does the CA have it listed at 2015? They say the account was opened 12/2010.

Re: DOLA 6/2006 means...

The fall of date may not be wrong.  The baddies can stay on your report for 7.5 years after the DOLA.  So if your DOLA was 06/2006, the OC may have it recorded as 07/2006 (it's usually one more later that it reports, so you made a payment in June, but none in July, DOLA is recorded in July since you missed THAT payment.)

So in doing the math, the CA should remove it from your CR either in 01/2015 or 02/2015.

I would recommend watching your report and seeing if it falls off in/about 02/2015.  It shoudl DEFINITELY be gone by 03/0215 based on the information  you provided.

Re: DOLA 6/2006 means...

DOLA is simply the date of last reporting of information by the furnisher.

Credit report exclusion of a collection or charge-off is not based on a DOLA, it is based on the DOFD on the OC account.

The Open Date of a reported collection is similarly irrelevant to credit report exclusion, as it simply states the date that they obtained or reported their collection.

The debt collector does not report expected or maximum credit report exclusion dates.

Debt collectors are required to report the DOFD on the OC account within 90 days after reporting their collection.  That ends their involvement in the credit report exclusion of their reported collections by the CRAs.

The determination of maximum or expected CR exclusion is then the sole responsibility of the CRA.

The CRA can choose to provide an expected or estimated exclusion date that is earlier than 7 years plus 180 days from the reported DOFD, and often does so in order to ensure that they dont exceed the statutory maximum.

You need to know the reported DOFD to detemine the CR exclusion date and base any challenge of its accuracy.

Re: DOLA 6/2006 means...

Even if DOFD is 8/2006....7.5 years from then should be sometime in 2014, not 2015.
