I have a Macys account that has a CO balance of $455 and is set to fall off Jan 2014. I called Macys to see if I could do a PFD but they said no. They said my account is now being handled by Northlandgroup and to contact them. I contacted Northlandgroup and they wont do a PFD either (said Macys wont allow it). Only macys is showing on my Credit Report not Northlandgroup. Should I DV Macys the OC or Northlandgroup to see if I can get this CO off my account. I'm kind of worried that if I DV Northlandgroup they too will start reporting and I will be screwed.
Also, lets say I just decided to pay the $455 in full would the reporting start all over again or would it still fall of in Jan of 2014...What if I tried to settle for say half. Would the account now report as settled and then report 7 years from the date it wsa settled or would i still fall off as normal.
