DV Question

I sent out a few DV letters and today I got an alert that 2 accounts that I DV'd have been removed.  Can I feel pretty confident that they are really "gone" and that my DV worked in that they cannot validate the debt which I know that they cant because it is back with the OC.

Re: DV Question

Voluntary deletion after sending a DV usually means the debt collector is no longer involved with the collection, either because the creditor has terminated their account, the debt collector has withdrawn, or the debt has been sold to another.

With the debt remaining unpaid, someone will usually continue to pursue it.  It is certainly possible, and even likely, that a new collection will pop up.

The OC may be pending sale of the debt, and thus a reason for termination.  Or they may just want to secure a different debt collector.
