Re: DV Response

Certifiednut - sadly the medical bills are yours.  I'd definitely try to PIF asap and then remove them via the HIPAA process.

Re: DV Response

From what I understand, once the medical bills are paid, they cannot show it on the CR anymore because they do not have a "business purpose" to do so.

Re: DV Response

Thanks for the input. I kind of expected that I'd still have to pay, but was keeping my hopes up. Oh well, gotta do what I gotta do.

Re: DV Response

Well, I've received all my green cards back from the CRAs. So I guess I just do some more waiting. Any idea how long til I get word or do they just update your credit report?

Re: DV Response

Ok so I recieved a letter from Experian today stating how they cannot honor my request because I didn't provide sufficient info to verify my identity i.e. ssn, D.O.B., full name, complete addresses for the past 2 years, copy of a utility bill etc. WTH? Are they blowing smoke up my you know what? I followed the directions in the post on how to go about doing this. Nowhere did it say about providing all of that, except my I.D. and a copy of the DV letter and green card. Did something change? Oh and not to mention that one of the CAs that I DVd (with no response) reported the dang account I was asking them to verify!!! They wanna play hard ball I guess. *sighs* Help!

Re: DV Response

The CRAs can ask for that information to verify that you are who you say you are. I've had it happen a few times, but not every time. I think if you contact them "out of the blue" they are more likely to ask than if you have been in contact for the last three months :smileywink:

Re: DV Response

Thank you for your reply. I just wanted to make sure they were entitled to ask for all of that before I sent it. So can I expect for other to CRAs to ask for the same thing or can they actually access my credit without all of that? Basically what I'm saying is, are they requesting this info just to see how serious I am about disputing this? Another thing is, after I sent the info to one of the other CRAs, which hasn't responded, they reported an account which showed up on a DIFFERENT CRA. Meaning, for instance I sent verification of my dispute to an account on my TU report and then I get an alert from truecredit showing that the same account popped up on EQ. WTH is that all about?!

Re: DV Response

Ok so I got a letter from Equifax "verifying" that this account is mine. All they sent was a letter with no proof. But whatever. I'm so tired of this, I just want to pay it and get it off my credit. So my question is should I send a PFD? The drop off date is sometime in 2010, but I really don't want it sitting on my report any longer and the amount due is $286. I know a year doesn't seem long but, I'm trying to do things you know. I so want to move into a bigger place for my family. I've started making payments on my student loan and I've finally paid off another account that was in good standing. I'm hoping that helps my credit score and I just want to keep raising it however possible. Any suggestions?
