Hi! I have 2 medical bills (totaling $2000) that i am being sued for - I received a summons and denied in the answer. The bills sent with the summons are not the actual bills, but screen captures from the bill collector, sent by the attorney along with the summons. My question is how should I proceed? Can I DV this debt? It doesn't appear that these have ever been submitted to insurance and one is quite old and appears to be beyond the SOL of 6 years in my state of CT. I know medical debts are handled differently so what is the proper course to take? especially since this is now going through small claims!
thanks
Medical debt is handled no differently than any other debt.
What do you mean you denied the answer?
Yes, you can DV a medical debt.
