DV'd CA 3+ weeks ago and answered with.....

Final notice to pay in 7 days or further action will be initiated.  My DV was well within the 30 days.  I'm not disputing the validity of the debt, just the amount they say I owe.  They are 700-800 off from what I have in my records.  I have the green card in my hand that is dated 4-18.  This is the only communication that I have had from them since I mailed the DV on 4-15.  The CA is the Revenue Group in Cleveland, OH.

Any advice?

They cannot continue collection activity until they validate.  Sending that final notice is a violation of the FDCPA.

File a formal complaint with the FTC and cc a copy to the CA.
