DV via certified mail and no green card back yet!

i sent a DV via certified mail on March 3rd, 2009.  I still have not received the green card back stating that the letter was signed for.  should i dispute the credit reporting agency by faxing/mailing the documentation to the credit reporting agencies (my DV letter and a receipt of the certified mail) once it reaches 30 days and will it do anything to help my report/score?  if the debt cant be verified it needs to be removed- correct?

thanks

Re: DV via certified mail and no green card back yet!

Per the FDCPA, a CA has an unlimited time to verify a debt. Even if a DV was mailed and if they hadn't responded, they can continue to report (they just can't call you, write, sue, etc.). Disputing the CA wouldn't help your score any.

I'd wait it out for 30-45 days from 3/3. Then I would send another CMRRR. I wouldn't worry about the GC too much. You could go online to USPS and print up a delivery confirmation.
