Date of first delinquency changed on CRs

I have an odd issue. My date if first delinquency has changed on both my ex and eq reports for 4 accounts that were scheduled to fall off dec of 2011. It now shows my dofd as being in the middle of 2006. Now they will drop off in 2013. I have old reports that show the correct dates, is it possible to dispute something like this? Will calling and talking to them do any good?

Re: Date of first delinquency changed on CRs

So you have an old EQ report that shows an older DOFD ? EX doesn't show the DOFD, it only shows an estimated drop off date.

What was the old DOFD and what is the new one ? Did anything else change ?

Re: Date of first delinquency changed on CRs

Here is what my ex report from 9-2011 shows, actually the fall off date is wrong in it too, but the account history shows 30 day lates from dec of 2004.

The one below that is the one I pulled today, it shows the same fall off date, but the lates from dec 2004 are no longer there.

Re: Date of first delinquency changed on CRs

Looks like the account was bought to a current status in Feb 2006.

Because in Jan06 its 30days late, no mention of Feb06, then in March06 its 30days late again. The new 30day late, is the new DoFD.

The DoFD can reset, if the account was caught back up and then the account when in default again.

DOFD is the month you first went late (1st 30day late) and never ever recovered again. If you brought the account current before any CO then DOFD resets and only the lates would show. For any OC listing, you'll often see a 30 followed by a 60, 90, 120, CO,CA  That month in which the 30 appears is the DOFD assuming you never paid to get current after that point.

Re: Date of first delinquency changed on CRs

Confused....

I dont see any statement of any reported DOFD in the CR provided.

Additionally, what I see is a chain of delinquencies, with the debt ultimately being discharged under BK.

I see no evidence of the reporting of either a charge-off or a collection.  As such, any issue as to the DOFD would be totally immaterial.

DOFD has no relevance to monthly delinquencies, and in fact, is not even required to be reported to a CRA until after a charge-off or collection is reported.

Maybe a DOFD is not even in your credit file, but if it is, I dont see its relevance.

Each monthly delinquency has its own date of CR exclusion of 7 years from its date of occurance.

Perhaps the 2013 date is pegged to the exclusion of the BK?  That has its own separate exclusion date.

It is not accounts that drop, it is the reporting of adverse items under the account.  I dont see one date as being the issue, and particularly not a DOFD.

Re: Date of first delinquency changed on CRs

Well I guess, since we all are confused.lol  I would suggest to call the CRA's and ask, if there is a DoFD on these accounts.

EQ is the only one out of the 3 CRA's, that show a DoFD. Have you pulled your Free CR's from annualcreditreport.com?
