From what I dealt with with a summons years ago, and also with Forster and Garbus, my summons was dated in February and was delivered at the end of May. I didn't know what I shouldve done either and I ignored it. Bad move on my part as I had a judgement against me after that. The date on the summons really doesn't matter that's just when it was really filed with the courts. The date it was delivered or served to you is when it matters. I believe you are correct you have 30 days if it was just left at the doorstep however I would suggest not waiting that long.
